The Problem.

Illiteracy is a significant issue in India that hinders the lives of many, and alters social and economic development. There are 287 million illiterate adults in India, making up 37% of the world’s illiterate population. Illiterate people are likely to live under poverty, causing their children to have limited access to education. The problem lasts for generations, as breaking the cycle of illiteracy is an enormous task. Additionally, Indian illiteracy support in America is very limited, with many families unaware of the issue. Thus, we aim to use our influence to combat both of these issues simultaneously.
